A good rule of thumb in the AV world is:


Screen height should be approximately 1/6th of the distance to the furthest viewer


So, if your audience sits 12 metres away at the back:


  • Ideal screen height = ~2 metres

  • Which equals roughly a 150–180 inch screen (diagonal)


This simple formula helps avoid guesswork and ensures clarity across the room.


Recommended Screen Sizes by Event Type

  • Screen size: 55” – 75”

  • Best for: Presentations, Zoom calls, internal discussions


A large TV or small LED screen is usually perfect here, no need for projection unless you’re going for a premium feel.


Medium Events (20–100 People)


This is where projection screens start to shine:


  • Screen size: 100” – 180”

  • Best for: Seminars, training sessions, networking events


Depending on the room layout, you might even consider dual screens so everyone gets a good view.


Large Conferences (100–300+ People)


For bigger audiences, visibility becomes critical:


  • Screen size: 180” – 300”+

  • Best for: Conferences, panels, product launches


At this scale, we often recommend LED video walls instead of projection. They’re brighter, sharper, and perform better in well-lit rooms.


Awards Nights & Gala Events


These events are as much about atmosphere as visibility:


  • Screen size: 200” – 400”+

  • Best for: Awards, entertainment, branded visuals


LED walls are ideal here—not just for visibility, but for creating a high-impact, premium look.


Outdoor Events


Outdoor setups bring extra challenges like daylight and distance:


  • Screen size: 300” – 600”+

  • Best for: Festivals, outdoor cinemas, large-scale events


Projection rarely works well outdoors in daylight, so high-brightness LED screens are the go-to solution.
